My passion for education started when I was a freshman in high school, tutoring students with special needs in subjects like geometry, algebra, and biology. Since then, I’ve had several opportunities that grew my passion for education and my impact.

College Peer Counselor

During my senior year of high school, I worked as a College Peer Counselor for my school’s college center, where I:

  • Personally supported 20 students throughout their college applications, FAFSA forms, and scholarship applications.

  • Taught a semester-long class of 35 freshmen on the path to higher education.

Advanced Subjects Tutor

At Anytime Tutoring, I work as an Advanced Subjects Tutor, supporting students from kindergarten through college.

Some of my proudest moments as a tutor include:

  • Bringing one student’s Algebra II grade from an F to a B within 10 weeks.

  • Supporting a student throughout 3 semester-long projects, achieving 100% on every project.

  • Teaching college-level subjects such as accounting, economics, and finance, which also helped me learn more as I prepared for my sessions.

Resident Advisor

During my sophomore year at UC San Diego, I became a Resident Advisor for two transfer student communities of over 1,000 residents. I supported students through academic and personal challenges and planned and hosted 13+ quarterly programs in partnership with campus organizations.

I earned three awards for my reliability, community impact, and crisis management. Being an RA was one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career.

Peer Mentor at UC San Diego

During my freshman year at UC San Diego, I signed up for a peer mentor through Mentor Collective, and it honestly made a bigger difference than I expected. I am forever grateful to have had that support during one of the most overwhelming transitions of my life.

Soon after, I applied to become a peer mentor myself because I wanted to be that person for someone else.
